Pittsburgh (WPXI) — A Pennsylvania man is behind bars for allegedly luring an 11-year-old into his car and authorities say an iPad helped police find the child. Police say 43-year-old Keith Lilliock was reportedly working at a Youngwood Dollar General Sunday night when police say he lured an 11-year-old girl. "I was just blown away. I couldn't believe it because I know Keith. I shop here all the time. He always works in the evenings.

Train founding member Charlie Colin dies at 58 after fall in shower

NEW YORK (AP) — Charlie Colin, bassist and founding member of the American pop-rock band Train, best known for their early-aughts hits like “Drops of Jupiter" and “Meet Virginia,” has died. He was 58. Colin’s sister Carolyn Stephens confirmed her brother's death to The Associated Press Wednesday. He died after slipping and falling in the shower while house-sitting for a friend in Brussels, Belgium, celebrity website TMZ.com reported. Colin grew up in California and Virginia and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston.

WJAC teams up with National Park Service to help clean up local trail

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Our fellow staff here at WJAC hit a local trail on Tuesday and got their hands dirty for Sinclair’s annual Day of Service. Fourteen members of our team, ranging from news, sales and production, headed to the Staple Bend Tunnel Trail again this year to help get it ready for the community. They worked alongside the National Park Service, which provided all the tools and bug spray needed.

Hosts of the popular long-running History Channel reality series, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, will be picking Pennsylvania and New Jersey this November, according to the show’s Facebook page. The show follows the duo as they travel across the country searching for rare antiques and collectibles and, this fall, they could end up in our neck of the woods.

EF-1 tornado touched down in Weedville this week, NWS confirms

ELK COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down Tuesday in Elk County as severe storms moved through the region. The tornado touched down just before 3 p.m. northwest of Weedville and damaged several trees, the NWS says. Weather officials say pictures show tree damage concentrated along a narrow path along Old Byrnedale Road and Route 255. They say several trees were uprooted or snapped.

Group of youth making beds for local kids

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) - A group of young people in Johnstown are spending their summer helping others through hands-on projects, while they improve their skills for the workforce. This Summer, they've joined forces with another program to make sure children in our area get a good night's sleep. Summer is here, a time to have fun and relax but a team of young adults in Johnstown are staying busy. They’re building their skills in a workforce development program calledJohnstown Youth Corps.

Johnstown Galleria's revival could feature in retail recovery documentary

The Johnstown Galleria gaining national attention, leading filmmakers to look into documenting how it, and malls alike, are where they are today. Producers from “It's A Mall World LLC" say they are making a documentary film about how malls are recovering from the so called “retail epidemic.” They say they are at the Johnstown Galleria “to see if it would be a good fit.” The malls owner, Leo Karruli, says the hard work by him and mall vendors is paying off.

Lone eaglet, who's now 10 weeks old, will soon fly from PA bald eagle's nest

HANOVER, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania bald eagle pair’s eaglet, who was once an “adorable fluffball,” is ready to take flight any day now, according to Raptor Ecology Specialist Zoey Greenburg. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been partnering with HDOnTAP and Comcast Business to offer a live look at the Hanover eagles' nest in York County. You can view the livestream by clicking here. The lone eaglet is now 10 weeks old, and bald eagles generally fledge, or take flight, between 8 and 14 weeks, Greenburg wrote in the Hanover Eagle Blog.

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Jake Guentzel to a five-year contract extension, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford. The deal begins with the 2019-20 season and runs through the 2023-24 campaign, and it carries an average annual value of $6 million. “Jake established himself as an impact player for our team from the beginning, especially during 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs,” Rutherford said.
