SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — On Wednesday, authorities announced charges against a Lackawanna County man accused of shooting Scranton Police Detective Kyle Gilmartin as he sat in a car while on duty.
“Today our department and the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office are announcing the arrest of Aiden Deininger, a 20-year-old male from Old Forge Pennsylvania,” says PSP Commander, Maj. Michael T. Carroll. The news comes after the arrest of 19-year-old Jeremiah Cleveland who allegedly is responsible for firing shots in the Hill section of the city on the 10th and 11th.
The mother of 24-year-old Jesse McKenzie, who was reportedly killed Wednesday morning in a crash in York County, says she was told about her son’s death by his fiancé.
She says he grew up in the Meyersdale area of Somerset County.
She says her son died from blunt force trauma. She says her family is overwhelmed with emotion, as well as the pressure of covering funeral costs.
She says her son had no insurance.
EBENSBURG – Police are investigating a fraud and identity theft case in which the suspect is accused of opening bank accounts at S&T Bank and applying for loans under someone else’s name.
According to a criminal complaint, Jacob Gunther, 40, of New York City, is charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, forgery and identity theft.
Police said Gunther entered an S&T Bank branch on Main Street in Gallitzin on March 22 and opened two bank accounts, a checking account with $40 in cash and a savings account with $20 in cash, under the victim's name.

FAIRMOUNT TWP, LUZERNE CO, (WOLF) — An area gymnastics coach was charged Thursday on allegations he possessed and shared child sexual abuse materials.
54-year-old Andrew P. Neafie of Fairmount Township was arrested on 1,000 counts of possession of child pornography, eight counts of dissemination of photographs or film, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Bedford County say a man is behind bars after he reportedly kidnapped a driver over the weekend and then assaulted several customers at a local Sheetz store.
According to the affidavit, authorities say troopers were dispatched early Sunday morning for an incident at the Everett Borough Sheetz.
Troopers say Everett Borough Police had arrested a man, who was later identified as 37-year-old Calvin Huffman, of Uniontown, and stated that there were several victims and witnesses involved in said incident.
