The Nittany Lions were ranked 11th by the playoff committee prior to last week's rout of Maryland. Penn State now holds a record of 8-1 on the season and prepares for a Big Ten battle against the third ranked Michigan Wolverines. Live bed bugs intentionally released in Pa. Walmart, state police say

EDINBORO, Pa. (NBC) — People in Pennsylvania are bugging out after police say someone released bed bugs inside a men's dressing room at a Walmart. It happened Thursday in Edinboro, Erie County. Police say a manager at the store found a closed pill bottle with live bugs crawling inside. The next day, Ecolab was contacted and found bed bugs crawling inside the men's dressing room. Another closed pill bottle that contained several dead bugs was also found on the floor of the men's department near the belts.

Power outage affects nearly 5,000 in Cambria County

JOHNSTOWN - A small portion of Cambria County is without power. Nearly 6,000 customers in Cambria Country were without power in Conemaugh Township, Johnstown, Ferndale, Dale, Lorain, Geistown, Stonycreek Township and Richland Township, among other areas. Some area learning centers closing for two weeks due to coronavirus concerns

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Many area learning centers are closing due to coronavirus concerns. Any school-age Learning Lamp program that is held on-site will be closed for the next two weeks, officials say. However, programs that operate outside of school facilities will remain open. This includes The Learning Lamp’s child care and preschool programs on McKinley Avenue in Johnstown, near Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, as well as the Westmont, Jennerstown and Somerset child care programs.

4 Oath Keepers guilty of seditious conspiracy in Jan. 6 case

Centre Co. workshop burns down after being struck by lightning, officials say

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a workshop in the Potters Mills area burned to the ground Monday afternoon after being struck by lightning. Officials say as severe weather was moving through the area, a lightning strike reportedly started a fire at a building along McClellan Lane. Investigators say multiple area fire departments were called to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported in the fire, according to fire officials.

Deputy AG to prosecute Franciscan Friar cases

EBENSBURG -- While Attorney General Kathleen Kane presented the grand jury indictment against the three Franciscan Friars, she will not be prosecuting any of their cases. Deputy Attorney General Daniel Dye will be prosecuting those cases, according to the AG's office. A spokesperson called that practice "normal". The AG's office announced on Tuesday that Giles Schinelli, Robert D'Aversa and Anthony Criscitelli will faces charges stemming from the Brother Stephen Baker case.
